The official demos.

In March of 1987, Boogie Chillun spent two nights at Stonee's Studio in Kenner recording and mixing songs for a demo tape.  These were never intended for distribution or sale to fans, only for use with our promo kit to help us get gigs.  Stonee's resided in a large shed in the backyard of a part-time musical producer and technician.  The set-up included an analog tape system with a 32-track sound board.

The band recorded four songs the first night and did clean-up and mixing the second night.  The end product was a cassette tape master, which was used to make the mp3s we have now posted on the Internet.  Given the limits of talent and technology, not a bad product--and it succeeded in helping us get better-paying gigs.

Singing the blues.

Unfortunately, the one original song we did was never recorded.  The lyrics were written by Blues Mark with help from Creature, and we all wrote the music, if memory serves.  Called "No More Cheap Whiskey," it was, as you would imagine, about drinking.  It was the story of a guy who found the love of a rich girl.  His friends warn him not to get hooked into marriage, but as the singer explains, "They think that I'm insane.  But they're drinking Schaeffer's while I got champagne."

Blues with a feeling

This web host does not allow mp3s.  If you want to hear or download some of our recordings, we have them posted at:
